On the tenth year of its existence, Uddyom was provided a much needed impetus by one of our own. Sri Santosh Kumar Datta, father of one of our members, offered Uddyom use of his premises for Uddyom’s activities. After suitable renovation, we were able to commence operations of our first unit, Uddyom Activity Centre (UAC), in the month of August 2022. The revered Headmaster of Ramakrishna Mission Students’ Home, Narendrapur, Swami Ishteshananda (Sandipan Maharaj), was kind enough to grace the opening day’s ceremony and bless the UAC.

Currently, UAC is hosting an upskillment course for the nursing attendants, who are in so much demand nowadays due to the increasing average age of our population. The course is being conducted by the sister-in-charge of a reputed government hospital, and Uddyom hopes that the trainees will be immensely benefited when they return to their jobs with the knowledge that they acquire.

For the immediate future, Uddyom is planning to hold financial information courses and free legal advise cell for the less fortunate.
